The Montgomery County Interagency Training Team (MCITT), which is comprised of several County agencies, has worked collaboratively with the “partnering for Maximum Performance Initiative” to provide joint training programs and conferences to County employees and managers. These organizations serve over 60,000 combined employees and managers. Through the “Partnering for maximum Performance Initiative” the MCITT seeks opportunities for agencies to collaborate, share resources, and remain fiscally responsible in providing training and development for a diverse workforce focused on continuous improvement. At the same time, the county recognizes that each agency is unique and therefore requires customized training and development to meet their unique needs. Through joint efforts, the County has been able to share best practices, and incorporated approaches and methodologies; identify and offer professional development training that cuts across agency lines; and utilize joint procurement arrangements, along with several other accomplishments. The current fiscal situation for each of the County’s agencies is a challenge. However, through the shared effort they are united to produce savings and efficiencies through cooperative and collaborative training efforts.
