The Optimal Health and Wellness Program (OHWP) is an integrated benefits program offered to county employees, their covered spouse or registered domestic partner (RDP), and retirees. The OHWP supports participants in a journey towards optimal health and wellness by providing a variety of resources and tools built on an integrated medical management model. OHWP provides current County employees the opportunity to work with a team of professionals in designing a customized plan to improve their personal health and well-being. By restoring healthy behaviors, Riverside County can reduce the rate of growth in medical and prescription drug costs, Workers’ Compensation, Disability and Sick Leave Programs, as well as prevent lost productivity in the workplace. In 2010, the OHWP reported an annual employee participation increase of 111% with a completion of 1,782 Health Risk Assessments including Biometrics Screening. Over 500 live classes were taught, with 4,435 completed enrollments.
