Chesterfield County’s Mental Health Support Services Department and Chesterfield County’s Learning and Performance Center established a partnership this year to increase County employees’ knowledge about how to recognize and respond to citizens who may be developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. Three certified courses were offered to all employees, including Mental Health First Aid Adult, Mental Health First Aid Youth, and Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), and classes were delivered by professionally trained Mental Health Support Services staff.
