The County of San Diego has always been an innovator and leader for local governments nationwide and County employees are one of the main reasons for that success. The County’s leadership team issued a challenge for the County of San Diego to become one of the top employers in the nation, which resulted in a County initiative called #1 Employer. The #1 Employer team focused on what the County could do for current employees to show them appreciation and gratitude for all of the hard work they provide. This led to the implementation of Employee Appreciation Day (EAD) across the entire County workforce. Employees seek to be in an organization that makes a difference and treats their employees well. Additionally, the County strives to be the #1 Employer in the region and continually seeks ways to engage employees. The County will continue to celebrate Employee Appreciation Day in the future and continue to be a leader on our journey of becoming a top employer in the nation.
