On December 6, U.S. House and Senate Armed Services Committee leadership unveiled a bicameral, bipartisan FY 2023 National Defense Authorization Act that includes the Financial Data Transparency Act, which was led by Reps. Carolyn Maloney (D-N.Y.) and Patrick McHenry (R-N.C.) in the U.S. House and Sens. Mark Warner (D-Va.) and Mike Crapo (R-Idaho) in the U.S. Senate. -

GASB seeks input on subsequent reporting guidance
In September 2022, the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) published a survey for financial statement preparers to evaluate GASB’s existing standards for the financial reporting of subsequent events by state and local governments.
