Crafted by Communities: A Framework for Economic Transition
This BRECC National Network session, entitled Crafted by Communities: A Framework for Economic Transition, will present three pillars for coal community revitalization and share resources from the Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement (OSMRE). Touching on market expansion, workforce development and infrastructure improvements, the Just Transition Fund will introduce a process to help coal communities be comprehensive and forward-thinking during times of economic distress. OSMRE will provide guidance on no-match funding sources for mine land revitalization, ideas for scalable projects and tactics for working with your state.
Presenters include:
Yolande Norman-Moore, Chief of Division of Reclamation Support, Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement, U.S. Department of the Interior, will provide guidance on Abandoned Mine Land, Abandoned Mine Land Economic Revitalization and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law funding opportunities. USFS announces $250 million for wildfire risk reduction efforts
