Building Resilient Economies in Coal Communities National Launch Event
NACo and federal agency partners convened for the national launch of the Building Resilient Economies in Coal Communities Community of Practice Initiative (BRECC). Through the support of the U.S. Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration (EDA) and American Rescue Plan funding, BRECC will create a knowledge-sharing and peer-learning community of practice to empower local leaders to develop new ideas, approaches and fundable projects as coal communities seek to retool local and regional economies. The virtual launch featured the following:
- US Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration
- Interagency Working Group on Coal and Power Plant Communities and Economic Revitalization
- Community Builders
- West Virginia Community Development Hub
- County leaders from coal communities
BRECC is operated by the National Association of Counties using Federal funds under award ED22HDQ3070080 from the Economic Development Administration, U.S. Department of Commerce.
