Lawmakers to discuss what it takes to govern amid the current partisan divide

WASHINGTON — Two members of the Congressional Problem Solvers Caucus will examine the requisites for governing in today’s often toxic partisan atmosphere. U.S. Rep. Charlie Dent (R-Pa.), who is not seeking reelection, and Rep. Kurt Schrader (D-Ore.) will discuss how moderate caucus groups in the House of Representatives are working across the aisle to ensure good stewardship of taxpayer dollars. Also on the agenda will be a discussion of the crucial federal-state-local partnership and how all levels of government can work better together for the benefit of the citizenry. National Association of Counties Executive Director Matthew Chase will moderate.
