A fast response is critical when it comes to saving the life of an abducted child. Pierce County has created a robust Lead Management System that greatly speeds the flow of information during child abductions. The system is one of the first of its kind to be designed specifically for local government. An intuitive Web interface allows call takers to quickly enter tips received from the public, as well as allows field investigators to upload eyewitness reports directly to the County's Information Portal. All "tips" are searchable by keyword and category, and can be viewed on a map. This award-winning system was recognized as one of the best in the nation by the International Association of Emergency Managers. Investigators have successfully used it to recover several missing children in the past year. The system can be customized for nearly any government agency and can be expanded to support any major incident such as a terrorist attack or mass shooting.
