Cabarrus County encourages employees to continue education and offers an incentive to do so. County employees can receive up to $500 per semester and $1000 per fiscal year if they continue to take courses toward a degree that assists with their current job responsibilities. The County had a two-form process in place, but it left much to be desired. There was no backend workflow or routing associated with the two forms. Additionally, the forms were separate entities and on occasion, employees would fill out one form or the other, instead of both. The County’s Human Resources Director requested an updated process with many checks and balances and that combined the two forms. The new process exceeds all expectations and has helped streamline the requests and reimbursements.
