The Alameda County Probation Department (ACPD) is committed to making our communities the safest in the nation. To support this commitment, ACPD utilizes evidence-based programs and policies to inform its strategies and practices to effectively achieve positive outcomes for justice-involved individuals and the community. One exemplification of ACPD’s commitment was to become an Evidence-Based Organization (EBO). To achieve this effort, the Department developed and implemented a strategic plan, which included goals, objectives, and action steps, to create organizational enhancements and improve client services which would equip youth and adults with the skills and tools necessary to live successful, law-abiding lives, resulting in the reduction of recidivism. The strategic plan included eight distinct goals and nineteen associated objectives and action steps.
