The Alameda County District Attorney's Office is dedicated to combating the epidemic of firearm related tragedies and crimes plaguing communities throughout the county, the state and the nation. Keeping firearms out of the hands of children and teens is a vital component in this intensive effort. Time is of the essence: in every instance that a child accesses a firearm, tragic consequences are highly probable, if not inevitable. The ‘Save a Life’ Gun Safety Campaign and Toolkit offers a unique and direct message aimed at keeping guns out of the hands of children and teens, with the ultimate goal of reducing gun violence, preventing tragedy and saving lives. The ‘Save a Life” campaign consists of dramatic, impactful messaging via billboards, bus shelters, via social and traditional media. The accompanying toolkit allows for simple replication in any community. The hard-hitting and starkly moving imagery serves to warn all adults who possess weapons that they must keep them secured and out of reach of any child or teen living in or visiting their home. This campaign is highly replicable for communities in all parts of the country, and will not only raise awareness, but will also save lives.
