The Same Day Juror Pay Mobile Workstations implemented by the Pinellas County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller goes above and beyond what is required by law. The initiative was designed to improve the jury service experience and reduce costs for the county. It is centered on providing jurors a one-stop shop to collect payment that is rightfully theirs, quickly and easily. In the past, jurors who were eligible for compensation would be inconvenienced by the need to visit other cashiering stations outside of the Jury Room to request their pay. If the jurors opted for a non-cash payment, or if they failed to collect their compensation, the checks would be mailed between seven and ten days after their jury service. Being the first county in the state of Florida to offer same day juror payments, the Pinellas County Clerk’s office streamlined the payment process and added much value for the customers and office as a whole. Since its official release date of September 23, 2013, the program has been very well received by the public. The substantial increase in same day juror payments alone has made this initiative a true success.
