The Loudoun County Circuit Court Clerkâs Office, with the assistance of Loudoun County IT Department, and the Clerks Document Management and Database Vendor, has developed and implemented a remote filing system for constituents and customers whereby applications for marriage licenses and assumed name certificates can be submitted by use of any off-site computer or public kiosk. It is now possible for people to complete the entire application process on-line and simply come to the Clerkâs Office to take the oath required by law and pay the fee. As a result, time spent, staff workload, and operation costs are reduced for both the customer and the office. All the data input is completed by the applicant off-site or via public kiosk, thereby increasing efficiency, eliminating paper use, eliminating redundancy, and eliminating any error that would occur by the repetitive data entry by staff that had previously been necessary.
