Cabarrus County’s Board of Commissioners approved funding for COVID-19-related absences, even after federal funding expired. Employees were granted the ability to request paid time off due to COVID-19, without using solely accrued time. The Human Resources Director needed a way to allow employees to apply for this funding and needed the process to be implemented in a very short timeframe. The Cabarrus County Information Technology Services development team produced a product that consists of a Laserfiche Forms process, which ties into a Laserfiche Workflow, a custom application for County Manager Approval, and a Laserfiche Workflow that produces a spreadsheet for Human Resources and Payroll displaying the County Manager’s decision and the number of hours granted.
