There are eight members currently assigned to the Pawn, Precious Metal, and Scrap Metal Team: one corporal, six detectives, and one civilian. Despite the small size of the unit, detectives recovered or identified 6,043 stolen items with an estimated value of $ 2,211,267 and solved 671 criminal cases in 2012 alone. Since 2010, the unit has been responsible for the recovery of nearly half a million dollars worth of stolen property. Between 2010 and 2012, there was an increase of 797% in the number of stolen items identified or recovered. The number of criminal cases solved increased 446% and the value of stolen property identified/recovered increased 214%.
