The Online Filing of Property Tax Appeals is a web-based application that allows taxpayers and/or their representatives to electronically file appeals challenging the Assessor’s assessment of their property values. The online filing has made the process of filing an appeal more efficient and less cumbersome for taxpayers. Taxpayers or their representatives can submit an online filing from the convenience of their home or from a remote location in the sprawling areas of Los Angeles County, or even from out of state. Taxpayers will instantaneously receive confirmation of filing with an assigned application number once the appeal is submitted. In addition, they can access the website to check the status of their appeals, electronically postpone a scheduled hearing or withdraw their appeals with the click of a button, no longer having to rely on paper forms which could be misplaced or lost in transition/transmission.
