Leon County, Florida is proud to be home to an estimated 19,500+ veterans and their families. To better serve its veterans, Leon County created the Veterans Resource Center (VRC) as a one-stop shop for veterans needing help with securing benefits or finding employment. Building on community partnerships, the VRC has grown to offer veterans and transitioning service-members access to new tools to assist them in finding employment in the Leon County area. Through this collaborative effort, Leon County has expanded its ability to serve veterans, giving back to those in our community who have protected and served our country. The VRC has become a key resource for Leon Countyâs veterans, connecting them with resources and services that address some of their most pressing needs. The benefits and demand for creating the VRC are evident as Leon County Veterans Services saw a 149% increase in veterans served the year after the VRC opened in 2012; the number of veterans served continues to grow.
