About the Program
Category: Personnel Management, Employment and Training (Best in Category)
Year: 2019
Miami-Dade County's Lean Six Sigma (LSS) training program enhances the analytic and problem-solving ability of its workforce. It builds upon traditional LSS training by providing focused curriculum on specific performance improvement tools. It empowers employees to identify problem areas in the workplace, and, using tools available through the LSS methodology, work through them to improve service delivery. Students are taught how to identify an inefficient process and develop countermeasures that could be applied in order to improve efficiency and thereby reduce operational costs; how to use methods and tools such as histograms and pareto charts; how to develop proper surveys to identify and collect information that can help discern underlying problems; and even how to perform a lean-based Kaizen performance improvement workshop. The program facilitates continuous improvement within the organization and provides both internal and external recognition for our employees, for both learned and applied knowledge and competencies.
