Milwaukee County became the first county in the State of Wisconsin to implement a State Income Tax Refund Intercept Program (TRIP) for the collection of delinquent property taxes. This program has generated over a half million dollars in additional revenues already. Numerous small delinquent tax accounts were closed out due to TRIP payments, which eliminated the necessity of resorting to foreclosure on those same properties in order to collect a relatively small amount of delinquent taxes.
