The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office Inmate Program Coordinator established the Inmate Clothing Closet based on the need to supply suitable clothing to some inmates upon release. Some inmates are booked into jail with damaged clothing that is not suitable for them to wear upon re-entering the community. In addition, some inmates no longer fit into the clothing they were wearing when they were arrested because their physique has changed. The Clothing Closet would be operated solely from donated items from staff.
