The Training Academy is designed to deliver competency-based curricula to new eligibility workers, Cadets, hired as part time employees, complete eight to ten weeks of classroom lessons and computer training totaling 300 hours. They are tested and provided the opportunity to work on real cases while being supervised by a trainer. The Income Maintenance technician Training Academy gives prospective employees a true look at what a job at DHS would be like and gives DHA the opportunity to hire trained and excited employees into full-time positions.
