Miami-Dade County (County) Internal Services Department (ISD) Facilities and Infrastructure Management Division (FIMD) manages and maintains buildings and infrastructure throughout the County, oversees capital projects and provides support to other County departments. ISD also acts as the real estate agent on behalf of most County departments.In October 2019, the County began the process of conducting a comprehensive facility condition assessment of 43 ISD-managed facilities, including several fleet shops and stations, amounting to approximately 5,446,400 of occupied square feet. In addition, ISD, through the use of Accruent, LLC, was able to train staff to use the Vanderweil Facility Advisors, Inc. (VFA) facility software to record and update the condition of the facilities, estimate cost of repairs, forecast capital needs, explore trade-offs between funding scenarios, rank and prioritize projects to meet specific budget targets, and share information via dozens of built-in and user-customizable reports and data exports.
