For the November 2020 Presidential Election, LA County implemented a suite of election dashboards to improve election transparency and efficiency. The dashboards collect data from disparate databases, services and websites and translate it into actionable metrics that allow real-time decision making. They assist in the administration and management of staff resources; they distribute needed metrics across the organization staff in real-time to aid decision making at different levels. The Voter Turnout dashboard allow real-time comparing of processed AV envelopes, identified vote centers with high or low traffic, and gave a running total of overall turnout. The PollPad Status dashboard monitors synch status and network connectivity of PollPads at Vote Centers. This helps prioritize troubleshooter resources at the start of each election day and allows quick downtime response throughout the voting period. The Ballot Inventory dashboard projects ballot depletion times and identifies troubleshooters that service the impacted Vote Centers. This allows a lean inventory that can be responsively moved to accommodate demand. These election dashboards allow quick look up and visualization of key metrics for planning capacity and resources by delivering timely information and metrics.
