The Information Systems Services (ISS) Department ISS has developed and implemented an innovative performance management system known as Palm Beach County’s “eKPI” (Electronic Key Performance Indicator) System. eKPI serves as an online tool used by County departments to capture, analyze and report performance measurement data. This application has the ability to present measures in tabular form and can display the most important “dashboard” measures in charts and graphs. There is a renewed emphasis in Palm Beach County on identifying and tracking key performance indicators by all County departments. eKPI fulfills our objective of delivering an easy-to-use application that is customizable, with the ability to interface with other systems to automatically extract performance-related data. ISS initially deployed eKPI in March 2017. To date (March 2018), the following large departments have implemented eKPI: ISS, Planning, Zoning & Building, Palm Tran, Emergency Management, Parks & Recreation, and County Library. In May 2017, the eKPI System received the Florida Excellence in Technology Award sponsored by the Agency for State Technology and e.Republic/Government Magazine.
