Guided by the vision of a healthy, safe and thriving community, last year the County of San Diego launched a major health initiative aimed at improving the health and well-being of San Diego County residents. This ambitious and innovative 10-year plan has developed into a comprehensive initiative called Live Well, San Diego!, which, along with building better health, seeks to foster safer living and promote thriving families. The program was developed to automate the manual process of contractor audits. Effectively, the county created a management tool that allows auditors to be more efficient during the process and allows management to access these records electronically instead accessing large paper files. This is something that the majority of public accounting firms do and is now translating over to the public sector.
