Discouraging criminal activity in apartment complexes can be as easy as changing a light bulb. Thatâs one of the messages police officers are taking to owners and managers of apartment buildings in Gwinnett County, GA. The Gwinnett Police Crime Prevention Unit started its Crime-free Multi-family Housing program in 2012. The first apartment complex received certification in 2013 and another 28 are currently participating. Other County agencies are helping Gwinnett Police in a coordinated effort to improve quality of life in multi-family communities by creating an environment where crime cannot flourish.
