The Court Relationship Management (CRM) project, known as “CheckBoard,” is an initiative designed to improve operational efficiencies within the Los Angeles Superior Court (LASC). This project manages judicial information within the CRM system. Based on the success and positive feedback received about CheckBoard, an additional human resources component is in the development phase, with other components under consideration for eventual incorporation. CheckBoard revolutionizes the way the Court manages judicial information. It coordinates, streamlines and automates the work once processed by several court departments. In addition to maintaining documentation created in the normal course of court business, CheckBoard performs processes that are critical to court operation, such as tracking movement in courtroom assignments and processing surveys. Prior to CheckBoard’s implementation, court staff struggled with imprecise manual systems. They were required to cross-check multiple sources of information on a continual basis. This was the only manner in which the accuracy of the data could be verified. CheckBoard eliminates such labor-intensive processes by consolidating judicial information within one centralized database. In so doing, it continually facilitates and improves efficiency in court processes that require ongoing access to judicial information.
