Like many local governments, the Camden County Board of Commissioners is self-insured. The Camden County Human Resources Department maintains and monitors the self-insured policies with contracted assistance from third-party administrators. After a review of the existing practices and policies, staff decided to update the Coordination of Benefits (COB) protocol. Adding an additional question to the annual open enrollment process resulted in increased savings for the Employee Health Budget. Over $300,000 in cost savings have been identified since the start of this program in July 2018.
