The purpose of CAN is to provide full time employment to Greater Avenues for Independence (GAIN) and Refugee Employment Program (REP) participants who are experiencing mental health problems to enter and stay in the workforce. The program provides internship participants with the opportunity to receive paid work experience for 12 months, while continuing to receive the services necessary to restore their mental health. The program also provides these individuals with specialized training that teaches valuable skills.
