Struggling to make headway in the ever increasing cost of providing health benefits to employees Cleveland County Government began, in 2014, a workplace wellness initiative entitled Cleveland County Strong. This was constructed to empower employees to take an active role in their health by creating innovative programming and reducing barriers to healthier lives. Looking at service delivery, biometric and financial outcomes, and program development the following assessment will show how Cleveland County Strong has been successful. Ultimately two questions will be answered: Is the organization cultivating a financially sustainable model and generating a return on investment and are individuals equipped and empowered enough and thus making healthy behavior changes? Simply put, is Cleveland County Strong working?
