About the Program

Category: Human Services (Best in Category)

Year: 2009

On August 22nd and August 23rd, 2008, the Summit County Child Support Enforcement Agency, a division of the Summit County Prosecutor’s Office, held for the first time a program designed to offer parents a one-stop opportunity to resolve their outstanding child support problems. The theme of the program was “Take the Right Step: We’ll meet you there!” Individuals with child support cases could come to an off-site location to work out several types of outstanding issues: make a payment or show proof of employment to have their driver’s license reinstated; turn themselves in if they had outstanding warrants; have the amount of their child support payments evaluated; and learn about employment and training opportunities.
