While operating as one organization, the disparate departments of Union County, NC often represented themselves with their own unique graphic identity. Meanwhile, the county’s online presence felt dated and out of line with the bold progress of today’s county. In 2021, Union County’s Public Communications Department undertook an effort to consolidate county departments under a unified brand, while modernizing the graphic identity and the county’s virtual front door - its website. In doing so, the county has made it easier for residents to access information, has captured the essence of Union County, and has united departments around a shared identity.
