Counties on the Front Lines: The Local COVID-19 Response
We invite you to join the National Association of Counties (NACo) on Wednesday, May 13 at 3:00pm ET for a webinar for Capitol Hill staff on the local response to the coronavirus pandemic in our communities.
Local governments are operating on the frontlines of the COVID-19 crisis as first responders, health care providers, administrators of human services programs and more. In addressing the pandemic, counties are facing steep revenue losses and expending unprecedented resources to meet the increased demand for services. In fact, new NACo research shows that counties can expect a fiscal impact of at least $144 billion through 2021 due to the pandemic.
During this session, NACo leaders and local elected officials will share how counties are protecting residents in your states and districts while continuing to provide essential services. Speakers will also discuss strategies to strengthen the federal, state and local partnership to end this crisis and get the country back on track.
