Chadwick led the Idaho Association of Counties for 27 years, shepherding a diverse group of county officials in the Gem State through organizational growth and personal development before his retirement in 2018. He died April 23 at age 73.  

Porter uses her position as one of few Black county elected officials in the state to advocate on behalf of marginalized communities, but also as a learning opportunity for herself as a leader.
