Despite rapid growth in solar energy across the country, solar development is still often limited by local barriers and ‘red tape’ .  In an effort to become more solar-friendly, many counties are Thinking SolSmart by improving and streamlining their local solar development processes in zoning, permitting, inspections & financing.  This publication outlines key steps counties can take to make it easier and more affordable for residents and businesses to go solar through case study examples from Pima County, Ariz., Summit County, Utah & Inyo County, Calif.
