Longtime Insurance Executive Joins NACo’s Public Promise Insurance Agency
Tim Brown to lead the new agency’s work across all 50 states
WASHINGTON — The National Association of Counties (NACo) today announced that veteran insurance executive Tim Brown has joined NACo as managing director of the newly created Public Promise Insurance Agency (PPI).
Brown is a seasoned leader in the insurance industry who joins PPI from the Gallagher Insurance Agency, where he served as vice president of public sector practice. Prior to Gallagher, Brown held a variety of leadership posts with Aetna, including vice president of group benefit sales. He holds a degree in managerial economics from the University of Texas.
“We are pleased to welcome Tim Brown to lead this exciting new endeavor,” said NACo Executive Director Matthew Chase. “Under Tim’s leadership, PPI will play a key role in strengthening America’s counties, especially in the race for top talent, as we focus on offering world-class voluntary benefits for our dedicated public servants in county government.”
PPI is NACo’s latest enterprise solution, joining over a half dozen other county member services operating under NACo’s Financial Services Corporation. Licensed in all 50 states and the District of Columbia, PPI provides voluntary benefits to counties, helping to attract, retain, and engage a county workforce of over 3.6 million nationally – one out of every 50 workers in the United States.
“It’s an honor to join the NACo team, and in particular to lead this new initiative to strengthen the county workforce,” said Brown. “PPI’s offerings are positioning counties to be competitive employers, and our team is excited to partner with them moving forward.”
