The County of San Bernardino, Department of Workforce Development (WDD) has administered and operated employment and training for the County of San Bernardino for over 18 years. As one of the integral departments within the Economic Development Agency, WDD strives to maximize the standard of living of all county residents through workforce development activities. The department’s success rests with its diverse and dedicated staff. WDD case managers have all completed a Career Counselors certificated program administered by Chaffey Community College in Rancho Cucamonga. These career development facilitators are trained to accommodate employment and training needs of the county’s diverse population. To meet these needs, staff has developed three programs which are currently being utilized to provide soft skills and job skills training. The first is through the Department of Behavioral Health which includes Steps to Economic & Personal Success and Job Skills; the second is for the Preschool Services Department and includes a staff developed soft skills curriculum and job skills. And last is a program being utilized by the Probation Department which includes both the staff developed curriculum and the Real Color personality assessment.
