The County of Summit has had a public website since the 1990’s. County officials have always realized the need to give citizens an easy and efficient way to obtain information about county services and offices. Listening to citizen feedback and developing technology resulted in website redesigns in 2000 and 2002. In 2011, a decision was made to dramatically change the website before the end of 2012. The new site creates a more efficient, user friendly web environment by providing a number of online self-service options for citizens to conduct business with the county. Citizens are able to interface online and fulfill some of the most common requests made to county offices and departments. The self-service aspect saves citizens time and increases government efficiency. The new County of Summit website was launched on November 16, 2012.
