On June 14, 2010, Westchester County launched Webexam (https://exams.westchestergov.com), an online civil service exam application that is already yielding dramatic results for both internal users and outside job seekers. The web-based system, developed entirely in house by the Westchester County Department of Information Technology (DoIT) and the Department of Human Resources, streamlines the exam application and filing process from start to finish. For the first time, Westchester County job applicants are able to apply for civil service exams through a highly efficient system that, among other things, reduces repetitive data entry, prevents human error, saves both applicants and County staff valuable time, and increases the quality of customer service provided to job seekers in Westchester county.
