The Volunteer Recognition Luncheon/Community Resources 2016 directory is a multi-faceted program that offers a combined outcome which yields an annual event and resource directory as well as provides the foundation to support a revenue producing product which raises $88,620. The Volunteer Recognition Luncheon honors approximately 1200 older adult volunteers who have contributed 100 hours or more of volunteer service. Sponsorships from businesses and non-profits are solicited to financially support the project which includes the expense of the luncheon along with the printing costs for 75,000 copies of an annual resource directory. Those same sponsors who had supported the luncheon are then acknowledged with high-profile printed listing(s) in Community Resources, Baltimore County Department of Aging (BCDA) annual regional resource publication which is printed in partnership with Baltimore City Government. The publication is distributed for entire year throughout Baltimore County and City locations as well as available on-line in an accessible format. The revenue collected from the sponsorships provide the funds to honor Baltimore County volunteers as well as publish Community Resources which provides a plethora of information for older adults, baby boomers, families, adults with disabilities (over the age of 18) and professionals.
