Gwinnett County (GA) depends on volunteers to help provide the best possible services and programs. Volunteers contribute directly to the excellent quality of life residents enjoy in our community.Volunteer Gwinnett is a new countywide volunteer program designed to involve more residents in volunteer activities associated with County government. Volunteers have been an important part of some County departments and agencies for many years, but now we have centralized and expanded the volunteer program with a bold goal of reaching a million volunteer hours by 2015. We have already reached more than 991,000 hours. A new website makes it easy for potential volunteers to find opportunities, offer a few hours per day or week, participate in a one-time event, serve on a long-term basis, and easily track their hours.
