Under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), America’s Job Center of California (AJCC) Partners are required to commit to working together through a Memorandum of Understanding (AJCC System MOU). In San Bernardino County, the AJCC System MOU is more than just a document-it’s a way of life. A key component of the MOU is the collaboration in the area of business services. There is a Business Services Working Group that has been meeting semi-monthly for the last couple of years. This group quickly started meeting weekly as a means to address the pandemic needs for both job seekers and employers. The group came up with the idea to support employers by hosting a virtual hiring event, branded as the “Biggest Ever Virtual Hiring Event”. Job seekers from all of the partner agencies were prepared for virtual interviews and prescreened to best match the open positions.
