Miami-Dade Countyâs Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is committed to engaging employees in individualized supportive programming that promotes employee growth through understanding and improving emotional wellness. Employees are the cornerstone of County government. A healthy and engaged workforce is critical to serving our community of almost 3 million residents. The EAP provides employees, dependents and retirees robust support services, educational materials and presentations. Employees also have access to licensed and certified clinicians with over 90 years of cumulative experience and internal individualized evaluation, confidential counseling services and assistance at no cost. As a result of the challenges created by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the EAP promptly adapted its current platforms and developed innovative services to address employeeâs rising mental health needs. The Virtual Emotional Wellness Support Initiative created virtual services with the goal of promoting emotional resilience and wellness and expanding access to needed support. This approach targets employees isolated and overworked by the circumstances of the pandemic and improves access to vital care and support needed to ensure a healthy workforce and workplace. The Initiative included a series on monthly WellTalks, Emotional Wellness messages and emotional support talks and materials available 24/7 through an employee-only Microsoft Stream Channel.
