The Maricopa County Human Services Department Workforce Development Division has partnered with the U.S. and Phoenix Chambers of Commerce, Northern Trust, Banner Health and Centene, to bring workforce services to Maricopa County veterans. The objective of this partnership is to promote the economic development, educational development and employment placement of veterans in Maricopa County through a Work Experience (WEX) program. The workforce services, funded through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), prepare veterans to re-enter the workforce, enhance their education and skills, and contribute to the economic vitality of the region by ultimately resulting in permanent employment for 71% of participants.
