It has three target audiences: school-age children, Gwinnett County residents in general, and food service establishments. The primary objective of the program is to reduce sanitary sewer overflows by educating the three major audiences about FOG: what it does to the pipes and environment, and what to do to prevent it from building up. The County’s presentations in schools have reached more than 2,500 students already, and print materials have been distributed to water/sewer customers in monthly bills. The online information on the county’s website averaged more than 1,000 hits per month in 2010 as well.
