Year: 2009

In 2007, Miami-Dade Transit publically launched a new online system that allows Metrorail customers to check the next train’s arrival time on their computers and mobile devices by utilizing a real-time track relay system that counts down the minutes and seconds remaining until the next northbound or southbound train at all 22 stations on the 22.6 mile rail line. The program also involved the installation of an overhead LED next-train display sign at the Government Center Metrorail station, with plans to install more signs at other stations.
