The Los Angeles County Department of Public Social Services (DPSS) serves more than 3 million people and administers programs to provide services to individuals and families in need. To promote the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), called the CalFresh program in California, DPSS began accepting CalFresh applications via telephone by capturing applicants’ telephonic signature.
