Teens Giving Back is a monthly, two-hour program that runs from October to April. Fountain Hills Branch Library staff and the library’s Teen Council jointly plan and run the program. The Teen Council is responsible for selecting a local organization, identifying a need within that organization that the teens can fill, and planning and executing each service project with oversight from the teen services librarian. Since the program began in October 2016, participating teens have logged 103 community service hours and donated 353 handcrafted items to seven local organizations. The program has helped local teens use creativity to actively identify and meet community needs.
