Year: 2009

The Summer Reading club for Off-Site Groups is a program that brings the traditional summer reading program to youth who are in group settings during the summer and are unable to visit a branch library on a regular basis. Library staff mail or deliver summer reading club kits to community youth group leaders who implement the program outside of the library. The goals of the program are to keep young people reading during the summer months for enjoyment and to maintain reading skills while not in school, to increase summer reading club participation among traditional non-participants, and to strengthen ties and leverage local opportunities with community organizations also serving youth in summer months to promote use of library resources and services.
